Heya!

Not too terribly much to say, just wanted to post a little something here and say "hi hello!" and "nope I'm not dead!" lol. Actually, I've been so busy lately that I haven't really spent too much time at the computer on a regular basis. I recently bought myself a gym membership and have been avidly enjoying that. Running is something that took a while to grow on me but now I'm at a point where I absolutely love it. Nothing clears your mind like pacing your heart at a steady 180, that's for sure.

I've also been spending a LOT of time sewing and crafting as I work on new projects. Got a wig in for Malon and am currently re-doing the shirt in a nicer material than the linen I originally chose. I've also been working on two other costumes, one is about 75% finished and the other has just been started but it's for AX 2012 so I've got a lot of time left to finish it. After such a rough patch through the first half of 2011 it's really nice to get back into the swing of sewing. I enjoy it so much and I'm super excited about everything I'm working on right now.

The unfortunate thing about it is that because I don't really have any local connections photography-wise, I'm not too sure how soon I'll be able to share what I finish. I'm a firm believer in the idea that the presentation of a costume in photo format relies only half on the cosplayer, the other half relies on the talent of the photographer shooting the costume. So while it would be easy to hand one of my friends a point-and-shoot and ask them to just go crazy, I guess I'm trying to avoid that. Which is not to say I feel that I am above it in any way -- not at all. I just have a deep appreciation for the work that goes into an art such as photography and would love to be able to collaborate on that artistic effort with someone who has a real passion for it. So we shall see!

But just for the time being any of my updates here will likely consist of works-in-progress shots and my meandering rambles. ^_^ I'm going to focus on making all of the costumes I have planned as perfect as I possibly can so that I'll be ready for con-season as soon as the holidays are over! That reminds me... I need to get my con schedule worked out... >_>
